NanoCharge by Turf NanoTech has unveiled a new adjuvant with patented nanotechnologies for use in turf markets.
Nano Yield, the parent company of Turf NanoTech, has spent years researching and developing solutions for agriculture markets. NanoCharge contains engineered nanoparticle solutions designed to tank mix with fertilizer, pesticide or PGR products to improve their uptake.
″Introducing nano liquid technology to the professional turfgrass industry has been a long-term goal of ours″ CEO Clark Bell said.
Turf NanoTech will focus on the golf course, professional lawn care, athletic field and sod production industries, according to director of turfgrass management Dr. Phil Dwyer.
Researchers at Turf NanoTech have been studying how to engineer mineral carriers into nanoscopic particles, which are essentially tiny porous silica sponges designed to be loaded with spray solutions to improve input uptake. At the nanoscale, nanoparticles gain a special ability to slip directly into plant leaves and roots to then deliver their payloads directly into cells.
The nano-size allows particles to act like both a chelator plus an adjuvant. In addition to enhancing active ingredient performance, NanoCharge can improve nutrient use efficiency by keeping nutrients in solution for faster plant uptake and greater protection against losses, whether applied to the soil or foliarly.
Turf NanoTech liquid products are available through a growing number of turfgrass distributors, including Planet Turf, D&K Products, Eco Works Supply, Empire Turf, Plant Health Solutions and Brett Young in Canada.
