According to the manufacturer, the new insecticide is the only one on the market with simultaneous control against the main pests of citrus, such as psyllids (Diaphorina citri) and weevils (Ecdytolopha aurantiana).

Luiz-Grandeza-1.jpeg″This is yet another revolutionary, sustainable, and safe solution to help producers manage their orchards. These technologies are the result of FMC's constant and significant investments in research and development and because we always seek to understand the real needs of the producer and the field,″ emphasizes Luís Grandeza, FMC's crop manager.

According to him, 22.37% of the trees in the Brazilian citrus belt (the largest in the world) had cases of Greening in 2021, an increase of 7.2% compared to 2020.

In 2022, this incidence had a jump of 24.42% in the region, that is, a growth of 9.16%, according to data from the annual survey carried out by the Fund for the Defense of Citriculture (Fundecitrus).

Grandeza also highlighted the insecticide Benevia (Cyantraniliprole), which in initial tests achieved 100% control over nymphs and over 90% over adults.

The 48th edition of Expocitros took place in the city of Cordeirópolis, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, which is one of the world's largest citrus producers.

50 PROTECTED CROPS

In addition to citrus, Premio Star insecticide controls the main soy and corn pests, such as caterpillars and stink bugs, in addition to offering protection against 50 biological targets in more than 50 crops.

With the Star Award the farmer will be able to combat caterpillars, such as Spodoptera, Helicoverpa, soybean looper, and bedbugs, which are the great villains and villains of plantations, the FMC said.

Sergio Catalano.jpeg″This unprecedented technology was developed for the Brazilian scenario and underwent an optimization phase to extract the best synergistic effect from the assets. The exact combination and proportion of the ingredients provide a differentiated formulation with extremely high performance for chewing and sucking insects,″ explained Sérgio Catalano, manager of insecticides at FMC.

Premio Star has a dual mode of action, broad-spectrum, shock and residual effect, less rain washing, and operational optimization.

″This is a revolutionary and sustainable product for crops. FMC’s role in insecticides is the result of constant and significant investments in research and development, because we always seek to understand the real needs of the producer, in addition to presenting new tools so that they can have an increasingly sustainable business with more income,″ the manager pointed out.

The Premio Star insecticide acts by contact and ingestion and can also be used on cotton, peanuts, rice, coffee, citrus, wheat, vegetables, beans, and sugarcane, among others. The mode of application can be air or land. The product is already being marketed.
