Bahia Farm Show 2023 - Sumitomo presents first results of Excalia Max

During the 17th edition of the Bahia Farm Show, Sumitomo Chemical presented the results of the first year of the use of the fungicide, Excalia Max, in Brazil.

The show is the main agribusiness fair in the North and Northeast regions of the country and was exclusively covered by AgroPages.

According to Sumitomo Chemical, in the last harvest, Excalia Max caused an increase of around two bags of soybeans per hectare.

The fungicide controls the four major soybean diseases, which are Asian rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi), target spot (Corynespora cassiicola), leaf blight (Cercospora kikuchii) and brown spot (Septoria glycines).

″For Sumitomo Chemical, it is a pleasure to participate in the largest agribusiness fair in the North and Northeast of the country, where we had the opportunity to present our hybrid and sustainable solutions to rural producers and the entire production chain of soy, corn and cotton, enabling them to obtain higher productivity and profitability,″ said Germiliano Júnior, Sumitomo Chemical's Trade Marketing Coordinator.

In addition, he stressed that the Bahia Farm Show 2023 was an opportunity to present  ″financial tools focusing on the Barter modality″ to rural producers and business partners aiming to finance the acquisition of inputs.

At the company's stand, strategic solutions for the three cultures were also discussed with greater emphasis, guaranteeing the efficiency of its products.

Visitors were able to learn more about herbicides Crucial (glyphosate), post-emergent and with a broad spectrum of control herbicides, and ZethaMaxx (Imazethapyr; Flumioxazin), pre-emergent with systemic action.

Also showcased at the fair was the Seed Protection platform, which comprises the insecticide, Maestro FS (Fipronil), the bionematicide, Aveo (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain PTA-4838), and the insecticide, Inside FS (Clotianidin).

Also part of the platform, MycoApply EndoFuse and MycoApply EndoMaxx (mycorrhizal fungi (Glomus mosseae, Glomus aggregatum, Glomus intraradices and Glomus etunicatum) are solutions aimed at optimizing soil fertilization and achieving better longevity, health and sustainability.

Also presented was the product, Legion (Fenitrothion + Esfenvalerate), which is mainly used against bugs that attack soybean crops, and the insecticide, Decision (acetamipride and fenpropathrin), which combats suckers and can be applied during the flowering stage of crops without affect pollinating insects, such as bees.

Another innovation that can help farmers in the region is the SOJA+ program, which includes plant growth regulator MaxCel (Benziladenine) that induces the formation of more lateral stems for a better productive architecture of the plant, and ProGibb (Gibberellic acid), which significantly decreases the deaths of flowers and pods, resulting in more grains and higher productivity.
