ADAMA announced the launch of the herbicide, Forasteiro, for pastures at AgroBrasília 2023, a fair held in the Brazilian capital exclusively covered by AgroPages.
The novelty’s formulation is an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) with a triple combination (2,4-D + Fluroxypyr + Picloram).
According to ADAMA, Forasteiro controls ″herbaceous and semi-woody plants, such as Vernonia polysphaera, Sida rhombifolia and Euphorbia heterophylla, among other weeds.″
The innovation is exclusive to the Brazilian market and is unique, as it has a broad spectrum of control against soft and semi-woody weeds and dispenses with tank mixes, ADAMA said.
According to the ADAMA livestock team at AgroBrasília 2023, it is possible to increase pasture productivity by controlling weeds, which will, therefore, increase meat production.
Technicians also claim that on quality pastures, without the presence of weeds, it is also possible to reduce feed supplementation in the diets of animal.
In a scenario with challenges from pests and weeds, ADAMA presented exclusive and sustainable formulations for soy and launched a herbicide for pastures at AgroBrasília 2023.
″We are the number one company in terms of registered active ingredients in the world, and, with this fact and our expertise in formulations, we have ensured excellence in our solutions, through exclusive products for the Brazilian market that are easy to handle and apply, and will contribute to the sustainability of crops,″ said David Cruz, Regional Marketing Manager, who highlighted the differences between regions.

With the current scenario of challenging pests and weeds affecting several crops, ADAMA presented its complete portfolio for controlling the main pests, diseases and weeds, focusing on soybean and corn crops, at its stand.
The company also showcased the Bom de Soja Campaign, which features Armero (Mancozeb + Protioconazole), a fungicide for controlling the main diseases that affect soybean crops across the country.
ADAMA also presented other established products, such as Apresa (Flumioxazina + S-Metolachlor), a pre-emergent herbicide for managing difficult-to-control weeds, and Galil (Bifenthrin + Imidacloprid), an insecticide for controlling bedbugs.
