Sino Agri Union: Marketing of created products including fluopimomide advancing smoothly

On May 8, Chinese agrochemical company Sino Agri Union held an online investor briefing meeting concerning its business performance in 2022 and Q1 of 2023. At the meeting, answers were given to investors’ questions on project investment and research achievements. 

1. Please give a briefing of the company’s fundraising program and investment project, whether the pymetrozine technical and chlorfenapyr technical have been brought on stream, and how will the new productions contribute to the performance of 2023?

Answer: The company’s fundraising program covers an annual 3,300-ton insecticide technical project and an annual 10,000-ton 2-Chloro-5-(chloromethyl)pyridine project and an annual 5,000-ton acetamiprid technical project. The pymetrozine technical sub-project out of the 3,300-ton insecticide project has been brought on stream successfully while the chlorfenapyr project has been put into trial production which is running steadily and is now approaching the designed capacity; the bifenthrin technical project construction is advancing smoothly, which is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024. With respect to the 10,000-ton 2-Chloro-5-(chloromethyl)pyridine project and the 5,000-ton acetamiprid technical project, the main part of the workshops has been completed and equipment installation has started. The intermediate workshop construction has been progressing in an orderly manner, which is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024. The successful run of pymetrozine technical and chlorfenapyr technical production will have a positive impact on the company’s performance in 2023.

2. What are the achievements and reserves made from the company’s research and innovation?

Answer: The company is implementing an innovation-driven development strategy and is making continuous effort on process improvement, new product development and innovative technology research. The production process of the company’s main products is being optimized constantly; and the product yield continues to increase. In terms of innovation research, as of the end of 2022, the company has been granted a total of 53 Chinese invention patents and 1 utility model patent, whilst 4 invention patents have been authorized in 25 countries. The company has successfully created its pesticide fluopimomide, which is of an independent intellectual property right and has been released to market; trifluenfuronate and Benmizuoxianan（苯醚唑酰胺）, the company’s created compounds, are in the process of pesticide registration. In China, 8 trifluenfuronate invention patents have been granted; the compound has been patented in 8 countries including the United Kingdom, France and the United States; the Benmizuoxianan（苯醚唑酰胺） compound has been patented in 11 countries including the United Kingdom, Germany and Australia.
