Corteva Agriscience launches fungicide Zorvec Vinabel in Germany

Zorvec Vinabel™, a first ready-to-use formulation for viticulture, was launched on the German market to support winegrowers in the reliability of their yields. 

Thanks to the fungicide, the vine’s grapes are protected and can produce good yields even under challenging conditions, such as high infection levels.

Zorvec Vinabel™ is a ready-to-use mixture of the active ingredients Zorvec™ active and Zoxamide. On the one hand, this combination offers anti-resistance management since both active ingredients belong to different groups of active ingredients. On the other hand, the effect against diseases caused by oomycetes (e.g. Plasmopara viticola) is bundled.

″The special thing about Zorvec Vinabel™ is that it can be used at the time of disproportionate growth of the canopy (EC 55-61). The systemic redistribution of the active ingredient ensures that the leaves, which are already in their growth and development phase, are protected. And that, although they were not available at the time of application. The same applies to the ovary below the flower cap,″ says Pascal Greiner, Viticulture Consultant at Corteva Agriscience. The result of its use is achieving a high level of effectiveness and reliable control of downy mildew in grapevines.

Outlook: Zorvec Vinabel™ is approved according to the new leaf wall area model with 0.38 l per 10,000 m² in table and wine grapes and will be commercially available in the 2023 season.

The recommended time of use is the beginning of flowering (EC55-75) so that the growth of foliage, stems and grapes is effectively protected. A Zorvec Vinabel™ spraying strategy should be structured so that the letter (Q & E) is not applied sequentially.
