Yangnong Chemical’s subsidiary planning newbuild of annual 22,650-ton pesticide, intermediate plant

On April 11, Chinese agrochemical company Yangnong Chemical issued a major investment notice announcing that its subsidiary, Liaoning Youchuang Crop Protection Co., Ltd., is planning the launch of a major investment project covering the annual production of 15,650 tons of pesticide technical, 7,000 tons of pesticide intermediates and 66,133 tons of by-products.

The project has received a total investment of RMB4.238 billion and is scheduled for implementation within two and a half years. Upon completion and the start of operation, the project is estimated to generate an average annual operating income of RMB4.083 billion. The project is located in the Huludao Economic Development Zone Chemical Park, Liaoning Province.

According to the announcement, the new project of Yangnong Chemical encompasses part of its capacity relocation from Shenyang Novpharm and several pesticide and intermediate projects that originate from Yangnong Chemical or its subsidiaries. The total production capacity of the newbuild will be 22,650 tons per year, including 4,500 tons of insecticides, 8,050 tons of herbicides and 3,100 tons of fungicides, as well as 7,000 tons of pesticide intermediates while main product varieties cover imazethapyr, pyrisoxazole, cyhalothrin, pydiflumetofen, anilofos and tetrachlorantraniliprole.

Yangnong Chemical said that this investment will ensure the company’s sustainable development and future growth; create a balanced business structure for the company in the north and south China; and pave the way for the company’s production and manufacturing advancement, to make it a leading global crop protection supplier and enable it to better serve global agrochemical enterprises.

The investment also reflects the positive responses and contributions of Yangnong Chemical, a central government-owned enterprise, to the national strategy of revitalizing the old industrial base in Northeast China, it added.
