Syngenta registers innovative insecticide Elestal Neo in Brazil

Syngenta Crop Protection announced the registration of its newest technology in insecticides: Elestal Neo.

The main focus of the launch is control in all stages of the whitefly. The damage to crops such as soy, cotton, beans, fruits and vegetables can be so bad that it may be irreversible. Elestal Neo will also be an important ally for farmers in the fight against aphids and mites in various crops.

According to data from Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation), Brazil is currently the second largest producer of soy in the world, second only to the United States. In the 2021-2022 harvest, for example, the production of this grain reached more than 123 million tons, occupying a planted area that added up to more than 40 million hectares, according to CONAB (National Supply Company), which reinforced the importance of productivity and protection of this crop.

Comprised of TINIVION™ technology (spiropidion), an unprecedented and unique asset, the new product adds state-of-the-art technology, innovating in protection for applicable crops and supporting farmers in terms of productivity and quality. ″We know that in the process of feeding the whitefly, whether in the nymphal or adult stage, it can inject toxins, transmit viruses and cause the development of sooty mold, reducing the yield and quality of the grains,″ explained Marcos Queiros, Manager of Insecticides at Syngenta Crop Protection.

″We are taking an unprecedented product to farmers, composed of a mixture of two actives, Acetamiprid and Tinivion. The TINIVION™ technology in Elestal Neo has the exclusive feature of ambimobility, as it moves up and down the entire plant controlling all stages of the whitefly. Elestal Neo is highly selective in crops and beneficial in insects, such as bees, and can be applied at any time of the crop,″ Queiros said in conclusion.
