ANPII includes bioinput companies and expands research

The National Association of Producers and Importers of Inoculants (ANPII) announced that, considering the growth of the bioinput market, it decided to include companies in this segment in its base, thus expanding its research and activities with biologically based products.

According to the ANPII, statutory changes were made to allow ″expanding profiles of associates and sharing technologies, knowledge, and networking in favor of productive excellence.″

According to market research company Research and Markets, the biological inputs market should reach revenues of USD 18.5 billion by 2026, a growth of 74%, against an increase of only 3.7% for chemical pesticides.

According to estimates by the consulting firm Blink Projetos with CropLife, the market for these inputs should triple by 2030, with biological pest control agents leading this market.

Over the last 30 years, ANPII has followed this revolution in Brazilian crops and consumer behavior. Since its founding, it has been expanding knowledge, especially about Biological Nitrogen Fixation (BNF).

″The first big change alters our bylaws and allows more companies to be part of our journey, having access to market research, partnerships in the development of new technologies with research centers and new programs,″ said Guilherme de Figueiredo, President of ANPII, in the recent general assembly of the entity.

The executive cited as an example the ″interlaboratory″ initiative, carried out in partnership with Embrapa (Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agroepcuária), which will point out ″improvements in the laboratories of the associates″.

Cínthia Delfini, Vice President of ANPII, justified that acting closer to the bioinputs market would provide joint actions with regulatory entities and similar associations, mainly in the regulatory area, which is critical for research and development.

″We seek legal security, agility in approvals so that the technology reaches the production line of the associates with greater speed and security,″ she summarized.

In 2023, ANPII, through partnerships with Spark (Kynetec) and 5P2R Precision Marketing, will compose an entire database for the inoculant sector.

By collecting information on these products, their different forms of application, the perceptions of producers, and the industry's investments in innovation, the association will be an active agent in inducing improvements, both in regulation and in the development of new technologies.

″We will provide new visions and reliable data so that the associated companies can add their global strategy and necessary means of production. It will also be possible to quantitatively show the general public the current scope of use of inoculants, the potential for adoption in new cultures and production systems, as well as the saving of resources and the reduction of the environmental impact brought about by their use,″ analyzed Anderson Nora Ribeiro, 5P2R consultant.

Another crucial point for ANPII is research and development (R&D), that is shared between research centers and associated companies.

According to data from the association, it is estimated a 15% growth in the marketing of inoculants in grain and grass crops in 2023.

The new research that is being developed and others in the final stage should accelerate the market even more, attracting through knowledge the producers who will have increased productivity and will be certain that they are taking care of the environment.
