Welcome news for peanut growers is that Brake herbicide has received the U.S. EPA approval for use in peanut. Brake herbicide delivers broad-spectrum, long residual control of grass and broadleaf weeds, including herbicide resistant pigweed (palmer amaranth).
This benefit is due to Brake herbicide’s unique mode of action (Group 12), making the product an effective tank-mix partner to other commonly used herbicides to help create a strong IPM package.
″Southern cotton growers are well aware of the effectiveness of Brake herbicide, and now this important weed control tool can help protect peanut crops as well,″ said Sean Lynch, SePRO Ag’s Director.
″We have significant trial data in a variety of common peanut cultivars dating back to 2013,″ Lynch adds. ″This fits with our philosophy of bringing unique tried-and-true weed control products to growers that offer true value, and not a ‘me too’ solution. SePRO Ag is true to our motto of Upgrade Your Crop.″
