Syngenta Agricultural Protection announced last Friday its intention to acquire the manufacturing capacity of a subsidiary of Ultrafine, a production partner located in Indaiatuba, where it has operated for over 30 years.

This change is part of a larger investment that includes expanding the existing Syngenta unit in Paulínia. It will result in the expansion of local production, generating new jobs. Both units are located in the state of São Paulo.

"We are excited about the support that this investment will provide to Brazilian agriculture. This is an important step towards guaranteeing the supply that producers need, as well as a way to allow us to bring more product innovation to the country," said Juan Pablo Llobet, LATAM President of Syngenta Crop Protection. "We continue to believe and invest in Brazilian agriculture, which grows and generates wealth for this country, helping to feed the world sustainably," he added.

"Currently, the Paulínia plant supplies Brazil and other countries in Latin America. However, growth in recent years has surpassed our capacity to absorb the expansion of the plant in the short term. Thus, Ultrafine proved to be the best alternative for this immediate expansion," explained Jorge Buzzetto, Director of Operations at Syngenta Crop Protection in Latin America. In addition to the intended acquisition, Syngenta will continue to work with other selected strategic partners for specific formulations.

The expansion program will also feature sustainable initiatives, both in Paulínia and Indaiatuba, such as the use of solar panels, digital and intelligent measurement of consumption of public services, natural lighting and optimization of air conditioning for offices and administrative areas, reuse of rainwater and sustainable building methods.
