Maraldi Sementi Italy acquires spinach breeding company DeSeed Denmark

Maraldi Sementi has finalized the acquisition of DeSeed Denmark A/S. DeSeed, founded in 2017, is 100% focused on breeding baby leaf and fresh market spinach for the world market.

This acquisition will strengthen the growth of MARALDI SEMENTI, complete it’s baby leaf portfolio and expand in new strategic segments as industry and fresh market spinach worldwide.

The Company’s breeding activity will remains in Denmark, under the name MARALDI SEEDS DENMARK A/S; ″we are very proud about this acquisition and warmly welcome the talented Danish team that will work closely with the MARALDI R&D and commercial teams to introduce the robust pipeline developed, including many new hybrids with full downy mildew resistance (Pfs 1-19) in both smooth, semi-savoy and flat leaf types.″ says Andrea Maraldi, CEO of Maraldi Sementi.
