Suli’s Boscalid 98% TC granted registration in Brazil

At the beginning of 2023, Suli’s second SDHI fungicide (BOSCALID TCNICO BAILLY 98%) was granted registration in Brazil.

Bailly Chemical, Suli’s subsidiary, is a boscalid technical registrant in China, while Suli (Jiangyin), the other subsidiary of Suli, holds the registrations of several single agents and mixtures. The products sold by Suli in the Chinese market include Boscalid 500 g/L SC (trade name: Baoluoshi), boscalid 50% DF (trade name: Baoluoshi), boscalid + iprodione 43% SC (trade name: Shigui), boscalid + azoxystrobin 27% SC (trade name: Shicheng), being registered for prevention and control of powdery mildew, stalk break and gray mold on grape, strawberry, mango, bitter gourd, rape, tomato and mulberry.

To date, Suli has obtained four proprietary technical registrations in Brazil, whilst several self-produced technical products have lined up for registration. In addition, Suli will be pleased to support its partners with cooperation in the Brazilian market to undertake registration of Suli’s Boscalid formulation products.

Boscalid is primarily applied to economic crops, being remarkably effective in controlling gray mold on grape, soybean, melon, tomato, strawberry, eggplant and lettuce; control of stalk break on grape, soybean, melon, tomato, lettuce, onion and radish; control of melon powdery mildew, and control of alternaria alternata on melon, tomato, apple, onion and radish.

The product has a long-lasting effect after application, allowing for a longer spraying interval. Grey mold and stalk break mainly occur under a low temperature and a humid environment, which generally requires the spraying of chemicals with different action modes and with good rain fastness. In a severe disease situation, the use of Boscalid can provide an effective and long-lasting effect of controlling gray mold and stalk break, attributable to the lower concentration of Boscalid, which effectively inhibits the mycelial growth and spore formation, with a curative effect. At the same time, Boscalid can inhibit spore germination, germ tube elongation and attachment formation, thus providing a good preventive effect to prevent secondary infection after the occurrence of diseases.
