Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals to acquire no less than 67% of stakes in Nantong Uniphos Chemicals

Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals announced on December 20, its decision to acquire in cash no less than 67% of the stake in Nantong Uniphos Chemicals. 

This is being done to ensure further expansion of the development of the phosphorus chemical industry chain, which is expected to enhance the company’s overall competitiveness. 

The scope of business of Nantong Uniphos Chemicals includes 1-Hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic Acid, Amino Trimethylene Phosphonic Acid, 2-Phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid, Carbohydrazide, polyacrylic acid, isopropenyl phosphonic acid, hydrolytic polymaleic anhydride, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid-acrylic acid copolymer, DTPMPA, PAPEMP, HDTMPA, EDTMP, acetylchloride, phosphorous acid, the by-product hydrochloric acid and methanol.

According to the announcement, Nantong Uniphos Chemicals, as a monomer water treatment agent manufacturer, will become Jiangshan’s new business unit. This will enhance the company’s overall competitiveness. The industry park where Uniphos Chemicals is located, is a provincial chemical park thus adding a new production base to Jiangshan’s production base portfolio. 

Uniphos Chemicals possesses a decisive advantage in the international phosphorus product distribution market. Jiangshan can now utilize this to market the company’s flame retardants and high-end phosphorus-based chemicals, to the benefit of Jiangshan’s overall sales increase. This is well in line with the objective of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the strategic direction of the development of Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals.
