On December 2, the Chinese Pesticide Company Shanghai Shengnong Pesticide Co., Ltd., announced its decision to acquire a 60% stake in Dongfeng Pesticide Factory, which aims to promote the company’s strategic development to meet the future needs. After completing the acquisition, Dongfeng Pesticide Factory will become Shanghai Shengnong’s controlled subsidiary.

Shanghai Shengnong is a chemical raw material and chemical product manufacturer engaged in the research and development, production and marketing of pesticide formulations and fertilizers, including insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and water-soluble fertilizers. Currently, the company possesses several production lines for various formulations, including WP, WG, SC, SL, EC, EW and ME, as well as nine independently designed production lines for novel DF formulations, three of which are already industrialized. Its production lines have an advanced technical level, ensuring product quality and performance through the strict control of formulas, adjuvants, trials, pilots, mass production and field applications, therefore, fulfilling local and international formulation needs.

Shanghai Shengnong said that the acquisition will create and cultivate a new source of profitability for the company, which will have a positive impact on its market positioning and enhance its brand influence.
