Hebang to launch annual 500,000-ton PMIDA project worth RMB16.7 billion

The construction of Hebang Biotech’s annual 500,000-ton PMIDA project, worth RMB16.7 billion, kicked off in Guang’an Xinqiao Chemical Park, Sichuan Province, China on October 28.

After completion and operation of the project, it would produce annually 500,000 tons of PMIDA, which will generate an annual output value of over RMB20 billion, thus becoming the world’s largest PMIDA production base. Guang’an Xinqiao Chemical Industry Park, where the project is located, is an industrial park within Guang’an Economic and Technological Development Zone. 

This year, it was endorsed as the first chemical industry park in Sichuan Province. It is also the only vital national pesticide industry park in southwest China and a green pesticide production base designated by the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission. The industry park has attracted more than 30 well-known chemical manufacturers, producing more than 40 kinds of pesticide technical and formulation products.

PMIDA is an important intermediate for pesticide (glyphosate), medicine, rubber, electroplating and dye industries. Sichuan Hebang Biotechnology Co., Ltd is currently the world’s largest PMIDA supplier, taking up 70% of the global PMIDA market share.
