Shandong Luba Chemical to launch new diquat project to expand capacity

In August 2022, Weifang Xinlu Chemical Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Shandong Luba, made public its environmental impact assessment of an annual 13,000-ton diquat technical project. Weifang Xinlu Chemical is a subsidiary of Chinese agrochemical company Shandong Luba Chemical.

Weifang Xinlu Chemical is planning to launch an annual 13,000-ton diquat technical project with an investment of RMB181.05 million. It is located within the plant area of Weifang Xinlu Chemical, Weifang Binhai Chemical Industrial Park, where diquat (dibromide) will be produced, while the 2,2’-Dipyridyl required for the synthesis of diquat will be outsourced to support the running of the designed annual capacity of 13,000 tons. 

In addition to the 4,000-ton diquat technical currently under construction, the company plans to launch an annual 10,000-ton diquat technical project in the chemical park of Pingyuan County Economic Development Zone, Dezhou City, Shandong Province, for which the environmental impact assessment was made public in June 2022 for public consultation.
