According to the specialist, these insects are the ″great villains of Brazilian soybean farming today.″

The lecture took place in the Arena do Produtor auditorium and was attended by Manoel Eneas de Carvalho Gonçalves, from the Agricultural Defense Agency of the State of Ceará (Adagri).

The 2022 edition of the congress has the theme ″Biodiversity: knowing, conserving and using″ and is promoted by the Entomological Society of Brazil (SEB).

The novelties for the event are the launches of Legion (Fenitrothion + Esfenvalerate), Thiobel (Cartap Hydrochloride), and Loyalty Bio (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens MBI600), in addition to the recently launched Aveo (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain PTA-4838).

Legion aims to control the soybean stink bug (Euschistus heros) and the cotton boll weevil (Anthonomus grandis), being a shock product focused on the first application.

Thiobel, on the other hand, plays an important role in coffee production due to its control on the coffee leaf miner (Leucoptera coffeella), but it can also be used for several other crops and pests, including the tomato leafminer (Tuta absoluta).

Aveo, in turn, is for the treatment of seeds in the on-farm system, and according to the manufacturer, it is an exclusive strain that ″promotes safety, high efficacy and phytotonic effect (greater volume and weight of roots, increase in biomass and better initial plant start-up)."

″The solution fights the main damage-causing nematodes, in addition to providing the plant with a better establishment,″ Sumitomo said in conclusion.
