The Brazilian company Fortgreen was one of the highlights in plant nutrition and physiology at the Andav 2022 Congress, an event promoted by the National Association of Agricultural and Veterinary Input Distributors, with special coverage by AgroPages.

According to the company, which belongs to the European group Origin, this event makes it possible to present new technologies through distribution channels, such as input resellers, so that these tools reach the rural producer assertively and with quality.

″We also serve the producer directly and the cooperatives, but distribution still has the largest share of revenue,″ said Gilmar Cagnini, Commercial Director at Fortgreen.

″In planning for 2022/23, we should start two more regional offices to serve the Southeast and Northeast regions and a new distribution center in the Midwest, acting strategically with the reduction of the distance between the factory, commercial, and distributors,″ he stated.

Brazil’s distribution of solutions and technologies in agribusiness still faced several challenges. The Fortgreen executive highlighted logistics, constant exchange rate variation, credit, competition, prices, among others.

″Our country is vast and we need to be present in all regions to consolidate the market and partnerships. Difficulties will always exist, but, at the same time, the sector shows great growth even with them, so we must deliver the best service, care, and cost-benefit for everyone,″ Cagnini affirmed.

Events such as the Andav Congress are seen as great opportunities to showcase good initiatives for the progress of the sector.

″The Congress is traditional in the sector and is awaited by everyone. For sure, a new business may arise, consolidation of partnerships and, of course, we will take the company's name not only commercially, but also institutionally, further strengthening the brand and product portfolio,″ the director said in conclusion.

In 2021, Fortgreen opened a new controlled-release fertilizer plant with a flexible production capacity of up to 45,000 tons per year of its flagship product, Fortblen.

Total investment in the controlled-release fertilizer project was R$100 million, including working capital.

″In a market of 44 million tons, controlled release fertilizers cover approximately 150 thousand tons, less than 0.5% of the total fertilizer market in Brazil,″ commented Declan Giblin, CEO Latam of Origin Enterprises.

Fortgreen and Origin have bold plans for the future of Brazilian agriculture. The idea is to continue investing in innovation, research, and development, consolidating the national market with products that can bring productivity and security of supply.

″New laboratories will be built and will be important for the development of new products in plant nutrition and application technology,″ said Leonardo Regis Pereira, Head of Business Development at Origin Latam and Head of Innovation at Fortgreen.
