One of Argentina’s youngest and most innovative input companies, Tropfen presented three biological alternatives at the Aapresid 2022 Congress, which was covered by AgroPages directly from the city of Rosario.
Santiago Oldani Ratto, Marketing and Technical Services Manager, said that Tropfen took advantage of the event to ″present to the market the path taken so far and all the news we have in the future.″

″We came to show a comprehensive proposal that includes foliar and seed treatment technologies. In addition to technologies of chemical origin, we were able to incorporate biological alternatives, and we want to spread them,″ Ratto said.
With the campaign ″Activate the Biological Mode″, Tropfen presented its line of bioinputs ″Tropbio″, emphasizing on the biofungicide Tropbio Derma, based on Trichoderma harzianum.
Another great novelty launched at the Aapresid 2022 Congress was Tropbio Pack Soy, a 100% organic combo with a soy inoculant based on Bradyrhizobium japonicum and a biofungicide with selected strains of Trichoderma harzianum.
Finally, Tropfen presented Tropbio Pro, a biostimulant technology based on Harpin αβ, a recombinant protein that elicits hypersensitive responses. It allows for an increase in crop production and quality through the efficient absorption of minerals and tolerance to hydric stress situations.
″These lines of biologicals for seed treatment are our big bet for this campaign. We are also convinced that innovation and development must be within reach of the producer,″ explained Tropfen's Marketing and Technical Services manager.
According to him, Tropfen intends to ″double its business volume in five years and reach 20 million hectares with our technologies, with bio-inputs representing 30% of this goal.″
″We gradually integrated ourselves into the market, and today, we are a reference in agricultural foliar applications with more than 10 million hectares applied with our technologies,″ says Oldani Ratto.
Partnership with PHC
Tropfen recently partnered strategically with the US biotechnology company Plant Health Care Inc. (PHC), with which they are developing technologies.
According to the local company, the bioinput market in Argentina amounts to just US$100 million, with 70% of soy inoculants, against $3 million in the chemical technology market.
On the other hand, expected growth rates for the chemical market are around 3%, while in the case of bio-inputs they are up to 14%, Tropfen projected.
