CAC International and Syngenta Group China sign an agreement for cyproflanilide strategic cooperation

CAC International and Syngenta Group China signed an agreement on July 25 for Cyproflanilide Strategic Cooperation in Shanghai. Xie Simian, President of CAC Group Co., Ltd., and Ding Song, Vice President of Syngenta Group China, signed the agreement.

The agreement marks a new beginning of deep strategic cooperation between CAC International and Syngenta. CAC International will continue completing the preparations for the launch of cyproflanilide, and continue working hard in creating new opportunities for further cooperation between the two companies in the future, in a bid to achieve higher quality developments.

At the signing ceremony, Xie pointed out that the success of cyproflanilide marks the transformation of CAC International from a manufacturer of chemicals and pesticides to a crop protection company, reaching a new height for CAC International’s ″scientific and technological innovation″ strategy. Syngenta is a global pioneer in crop protection, and its Chinese team is an elite groups that outperforms its peers in serving the Chinese crop protection market with leading experience, performance and reputation in new product R&D, promotion, sales and overall operations.

Xie believes that due to the superior activity of cyproflanilide and the collaboration of both sides, new opportunities will be created for both companies and teams on the road to the commercialization of cyproflanilide.

In his speech, Ding Song, Vice President of Syngenta Group China, expressed his gratitude to the R&D team of CAC International for screening this outstanding compound. He said he believes that cyproflanilide will provide a green solution to solve the problems caused by the lack of solutions in those areas suffering from resistant pests in China in the future, and make an important contribution to safeguard China’s food security. Syngenta has been deeply involved in China’s plant protection market for many years, and is confident in its ability to serve farmers with cyproflanilide for a longer period of time through professional team services, bringing better economic benefits and returns to both parties. He also wished CAC International’s efforts in creation and development would deliver greater and excellent new compounds for the Chinese plant protection market and growers, and hoped both parties would use cyproflanilide as a starting point for more cooperation.

Introduction of cyproflanilide

Cyproflanilide is the first compound created by CAC International with independent intellectual property rights. It is a diamide insecticide belonging to Group 30 of IRAC, with the development code of CAC-I-785 and CAS number of 2375110-88-4.

Cyproflanilide is highly effective against, among others, rice stem borers and rice leaf borers. It provides a green solution for resistant rice stem borers and rice leaf borers, and will contribute to safeguarding the security of rice in China. Cyproflanilide is also highly effective against pests such as diamondback moths, beet armyworms, flea beetles and thrips, and can be used to control resistant pests on vegetables, fruit trees and other crops. Cyproflanilide is now at the substantive registration stage in China and is expected to obtain registration for official marketing in 2024. Meanwhile, the preparation for its launch in major markets around the world, including Southeast Asia and South America, is in full swing.

Currently, cyproflanilide-related compounds, mixtures, applications, formulations, processes, crystal forms and intermediates have been patented, forming a complete patent protection network for cyproflanilide, which can provide all-around protection for innovative products.
