Grupo Duwest (www.duwest.com), leader in development and distribution of agricultural inputs in the Mesoamerican region, announces the acquisition of the Mexican company Síntesis y Formulaciones de Alta Tecnología – SIFATEC (www.sifatec.com.mx). The acquisition will be effective as of July 6, 2022.
This acquisition is Duwest’s entry into the Mexican market and represents an important milestone in its consolidation within the Mesoandean market. As in other geographies where it is present, Duwest will focus in value-adding solutions to the grower, combining a workforce with strong technical know-how, with a differentiated portfolio, and sustainable and innovative practices.
Raimundo Riojas, Duwest CEO, commented, ″Mexico is the second largest crop protection market in Latin America as well as one of the most important economies in the region. This acquisition is transformational in helping us achieve our growth objectives as well as strengthening our leadership position in the Mesoandean region. Agriculture continues to be a dynamic and critical part of our economies. This investment is yet another signal of our belief and commitment to the Ag Sector.″
Founded in 2001, SIFATEC will bring to Grupo Duwest a team of more than 300 employees, a portfolio with more than 120 products, more than 700 trademarks, 3 plants with world-class technology and standards, a 500+ customer base, and the successful development of differentiated products.
Riojas added, ″SIFATEC’s know-how and portfolio are a great compliment to our strengths. Our combination should provide dynamism to the market and seek to better serve the current and future needs of our customers and suppliers. More importantly, we found in SIFATEC a company whose culture, principles and corporate values are very much aligned with ours.″
Amongst the sustainability related policies which will be implemented is the Product Stewardship-PS program, which applies to all the company’s operations and considers the total life cycle of its products, from manufacture, distribution, safe use, and proper container disposal.
According to Duwest’s CEO, SIFATEC’s leadership will remain in place, ensuring the business continuity. Starting July 6, 2022, the integration of SIFATEC’s operations will begin with Duwest, while seeking to conserve the dynamism and strengths that have given SIFATEC its success to date.
