Gansu Xinyu 15,000/ton pesticide production project to enter trial production soon, to produce 12 products including Quizalofop-p-ethyl, Penoxsulam, Bentazone

AgroPages recently learned from China’s agrochemical company Gansu Xinyu (Western) Chemical Co., Ltd. (Gansu Xinyu) that its 15,000/ton pesticide production project will enter trial production. 

Gansu Xinyu is a subsidiary of Hefei Xingyu Chemical Co., Ltd., located at Building Materials Chemical Industrial Zone, Yumen, Gansu Province. Being the key construction project of the Chemical Industrial Zone, it has an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons of pesticide technical products. The planned total investment for the project is 870 million yuan, while the planned land area is 440 mu, of which the first phase will cover an area of 194 mu, and the second phase will cover 246 mu. 

The construction of the project’s first phase began in mid-June 2021. With the support of Wynca Group and the hard work of the project’s staff, its overall progress has been safe and smooth. The first stage of the project will be ready for trial production by the end of August 2022.

During the first phase, six standardized production workshops will be built to produce 17 varieties, which are 5 intermediates and 12 pesticide technical products. The pesticide intermediates include 1000t/a 2,6-Dichloroquinoxaline, 1000t/a 2-Mercapto-6-chlorobenzoxazole, 800 t/a nicotinamide and so on at an annual production capacity of 9,500 tons; technical products including 1000t/a Quizalofop-p-ethyl, 500t/a Quizalofop-p-tefuryl, 500t/a Penoxsulam, 2000t/a Bentazone, 500t/a Metamifop, 500t/a Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl, 1000t/a Nicosulfuron and so on at an annual production capacity of 7,500 tons.  

All the above products are selective herbicides that are high efficiency, low toxicity, environmentally friendly and market leading. The project starts with basic fine chemical raw materials, such as phthalic anhydride and phenol. The raw materials are easily available and the process is reliable and stable and has cost advantages. After the project is fully completed and enters production, it is expected to achieve an annual sales income of 2 billion yuan, with a profit of 100 million yuan and a tax payment of about 80 million yuan, while providing some 200 jobs for society.
