ISK’s new compound Isofetamid 95% TC and 400g/L SC was granted registration in December 2021, for application to strawberry, cucumber and tomato for control of gray mold and also powdery mildew in cucumber.

ISK Shanghai and ISK’s J/V company in Zhejiang will take charge of the product release in China, which is expected to be launched in this July.

Isofetamid is an SDHI fungicide developed by ISK, under the development code of IKF-5411, which is a second-generation SDHI inhibitor. The product, with a unique mechanism of action, acts on the pathogenic mitochondrial electron transport system complex II SDH to inhibit the transfer of electron from succinic acid to ubiquinone by taking up completely or in part the sites of the ubiquinone substrate, to block the energy metabolism of pathogenic bacteria to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria and cause pathogenic bacteria to die.

Isofetamid is classified by the Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) as Group 7, which has a mechanism of action different from benzimidazole, triazole and strobilurin, without cross resistance among common fungicides.

Isofetamid has a broad spectrum and high efficiency, being both protective and curative, which can effectively control the fungal diseases of ascomycetes and deuteromycetes. It can effectively control gray mold in cucumber, tomato and strawberry as well as powdery mildew in cucumber. Isofetamid can effectively inhibit the second time infestation from pathogens while being safe for bees, beneficial organisms and natural enemies.
