″This is a very important year for BASF, the year of the launch of a product that will make history, the herbicide, Voraxor. We are a company that bets on current fungicides, and with so many weed issues, the company started to invest in new technologies to develop new herbicides. Therefore, today, we have a very complete portfolio of herbicides, both for corn, soy, rice and other crops,″ said Martín Píriz, director of BASF Uruguay.

According to Píriz, Voraxor offers ″many benefits to producers, such as selectivity in less than four crops, which are wheat, barley, soybeans and corn, in addition to very good persistence in terms of control, very good burning and rapid weed control. One of the most important attributes is that it can be applied until day zero of planting, which is a very important difference from other herbicides on the market.″

We are sure that it will be a product that will have widespread use, and we are very happy to launch it,″ he added.

Voraxor complements BASF's herbicide solutions for different production systems in various crops, along with Heat, Convey, Atectra BV, Liberty and Kifix. ″Voraxor offers solution to several serious weed control problems faced by farmers in Uruguay,″ Píriz noted.

The development of the herbicide took several years of field tests and demonstrations in commercial areas, in order to adapt the technology to local conditions, evaluate each benefit, and define recommendations, dosage, application time and possible mixtures.

″All these years of experience enabled us to benefit agriculture with appropriate recommendations for the best use of products. Thanks to these experiences, we have identified the major benefits of Voraxor and how to use it to solve the challenges facing Uruguayan agriculture today,″ Píriz said in conclusion.
