On September 30, 2020, Professor Shen Qirong, an academic from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Nanjing Agricultural University, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Harworld Biological. In June 2022, 20 months after the signing of the agreement, industrialized production of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SQR9 and Bacillus subtilis SQR7, under the cooperation, began at Harworld Biological, where fermentation has reached an average of 30 billion / mL, while the high level of activity of strains is being largely maintained, ensuring longer lifespans and satisfaction.


The two sides have cooperated in developing a series of microbial formulations, including Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SQR7, Bacillus subtilis SQR7, Trichoderma harzianum 4742, Bacillus velezensis and Paecilomyces lilacinus, which biologically control plant diseases, improves fertilizer efficiency, and reduces the use of chemical pesticides and chemical fertilizers.


Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SQR9


The product is a rhizosphere promoting agent isolated by Shen’s team from healthy plants in a cucumber planting area affected by disease, and is demonstrated to have a significant effect in terms of promotion and control in pot culture and field cultivation.


1)Biofilm control: A strong biofilm is formed and colonizes the rhizosphere of crops for the biological control of diseases.

2)Antibacterial: The fermentation broth of SQR9 strongly inhibits a variety of soil-borne pathogens, such as Fusarium oxysporum.

3)Saline-alkali tolerance: The spermidine produced reduces oxidative damage to crops, promotes the discharge of sodium ion, and enhances the saline-alkali tolerance of crops.

4)Rooting and growth promotion: The excretion produces indole acetic acid, improves rhizosphere nutrition and encourages root development.


The Oushen-Jiafu product series uses Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SQR9 as a functional bacterium, which is suitable for the saline-alkali land of Northwest China, where colonization and multiplication can happen at the roots of saline-alkali crops, improving the saline-alkali tolerance of crops, promoting growth and facilitating disease control. 


Bacillus subtilis SQR7


1)Stress resistance and growth promotion: The product induces crop resistance gene expression and enhances crop stress resistance and disease resistance.

2)Rooting and promotion of root system: The biosynthetic indoleacetic acid promotes root development and germinates larger numbers of capillary lateral roots.

3)Synergistic absorption: Produces phytase and the volatile promoting substance, 2,3-Butanediol, which can dissolve phosphorus and potassium, and increases the absorption and utilization of large and medium trace elements.

4)Antibacterial: 7.9% of the sequences of the entire genome is linked to the synthesis of known antagonistic substances, producing a variety of antibacterial metabolites to inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria, therefore, preventing and controlling diseases.


The Puloshiwang-Puzi product series uses Bacillus subtilis SQR7 as a functional bacterium, which has an outstanding rooting capacity and is suitable for for crop breeding and the culture and transplantation of seedlings, which facilitates disease control to achieve a higher survival rate.
