UPL signs MOU with G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology to promote sustainable agriculture

UPL Ltd., a global provider of sustainable agriculture products and solutions, announced collaboration with G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology for developing sustainable solutions for the farmers. Keeping ‘Farmer First’ approach, UPL signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University to develop Sustainable solutions for farmers.

The event saw participation by Dr. R. S. Chauhan (Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, acting), Dr. A.S. Nain (Director Research) and panel of scientists from the university and Mr. Rahul Pandey (Commercial Head, India), Mr. Ravi Hegde (Region R&D Head) and Dr. Shikha Joshi (Manager, Regulatory) from UPL.

The MoU aims to facilitate research and development in mutually agreed areas and jointly work in the area of product stewardship by providing safe use trainings. UPL will collaborate with the university on developing drone technologies and will also bestow scholarship to university students. G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, the first Agricultural University of India has championed work in the field of biologicals. UPL will jointly collaborate to explore avenues to make these technologies available to the farmers. The collaboration also aims to strengthen research in the field of biosolutions to mitigate the effects of biotic and abiotic stress on crop which is a leading cause of crop loss.

Mr Rahul Pandey – Head Commercial and Marketing, UPL said, “At UPL, we are dedicated to the success and well-being of our primary stakeholders, the farmers. We believe that by partnering with the University, we will be able to provide farmers with sustainable products that incorporate cutting-edge technology, allowing them to increase their productivity and profitability. The collaboration demonstrates our dedication to UPL’s Open Ag purpose”.

Dr. Nain from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology said, “We are ecstatic that the two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. We believe that the relationship will benefit farmers immensely by providing newer technologies and solutions. We also like to express our gratitude for UPL’s interest to provide stewardship training and support students with scholarship”. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor extended his warm wishes for the success of the collaboration.
