Herbishow 2022, the main event in the sugar-energy sector emphasizing weed control in sugarcane fields, began on 1st June, 2022, in Ribeirão Preto, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
On the occasion, the Italian-Japanese company Sipcam Nichino announced to the market the launch of a graminicide from Italy described as state-of-the-art.
The new product bears the trademark Sirtaki 360 CS, and has Clomazone as an active ingredient. It is a systemic, selective, pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide. It launches a new era in the Brazilian market for the so-called encapsulated formulation (CS), according to Carulina Oliveira, marketing manager of the manufacturing company, Sipcam Nichino Brasil.
“Sirtaki 360 CS has a long residual. It can be applied to sugarcane all year round, in managing weeds that are difficult to control such as purslane, brachiaria grass, crabgrass, colony grass, marmalade grass, caruru, viola and ragweed, for example,” Oliveira summarized.
According to the company's Marketing Director, Leandro Martins, the new 'CS' version of Sipcam Nichino is patented by Sipcam Oxon Italia, an arm of the Italian-Japanese company considered a name in the field of formulations.
“Technology is disruptive because it marks a conceptual breakthrough. We are currently facing one of the most advanced encapsulated formulations on the world crop protection market,” Martins emphasized.
The executive explained that in the case of Sirtaki 360 CS, the herbicide is inserted into smaller microcapsules than traditional 'CS'. “The Sipcam Oxon microcapsule is precise, resistant to friction and allows the herbicide to be applied even to the sugarcane straw, without any loss of performance in controlling weeds. Rain does not interfere with the action of the herbicide; on the contrary, it works as an activating agent for the product.”
According to agronomist Sergio Camargo, the new Sirtaki 360 CS is registered in cotton, rice, potato, eucalyptus, tobacco and cassava crops. The product is now available for sale.
Leale, another Sipcam Nichino star product for weed management, will also have field results presented at the Herbishow. One can apply the herbicide to plant cane and ratoon cane, in the dry, semi-dry and wet seasons, the company informed.
Also at the event's location, Sipcam Nichino reinforces recent actions in support of the launch of its Biostimulants Platform. Made up of Abyss, Blackjak, Nutex Premium and Stilo Verde inputs, the new technological solution allows the aerial part of plants to develop better and gain in the TCH indicator (tons of cane per hectare), the company said.
