Agrishow 2022 – Award-winning startup Tarvos offering smart traps for pests

The big winner of this year's Agrishow Startups Award was Tarvos, which developed smart traps that can capture, identify, analyze and generate consistent information about various pests that harm crops.

The announcement took place this Thursday, April 28th, at the Knowledge Arena of Agrishow 2022 – 27th International Agricultural Technology in Action Fair, which has special coverage by AgroPages.

“Our differential is to develop and operate intelligent stations that monitor the production of various crops. In addition, the information is made available to rural producers through WhatsApp”, said Andrei Grespan, one of the founding partners of Tarvos.

According to Clayton Guimarães, from Core, Agrishow's partner in the award, Tarvos will be able to use the Supera Parque space for up to six months, in addition to other opportunities that may arise, including abroad.

He noted that the quality of the participating startups and the technologies presented surprised the event organizers. “We are in the era of transformation and agribusiness cannot be left out of this mindset evolution”, he noted.

The second place award went to fintech Traive Finance, whose main objective is to help the financial market understand the agribusiness to make loans more assertively. Of the eleven finalists, Bione4all finished in third place. The startup works with solutions for soil management, focusing on plant defense and nutrition.

Lucas Ribeiro, sustainability manager at ABAG (Brazilian Agribusiness Association) and member of the Judging Committee, highlighted the importance of the award for the agro sector, which in itself is already very complex.

“There are many agents and variables that influence the production chain in different ways. Agrishow's initiative to promote this award has given visibility to startups in the segment, but also offers rural producers the opportunity to find solutions to their problems in the field”, noted Ribeiro.
