A glyphosate manufacturing subsidiary of Shenghua Biok, a leading Chinese pesticide company has been ordered to halt production by the authority for environmental scandal.
The subsidiary located in Zhejiang provinces mainly engaged in production of glyphosate and its intermediate PMIDA. According to the survey from Agropages, the subsidiary has operated the PMIDA project in 2004 and launched the glyphosate projects in 2007. In 2008, over 5000 tons of glyphosate output has contributed over 100 million Yuan’s revenue for the company.
