In the context of sustainable agriculture and the global food supply crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, what opportunities and challenges is ORGANIC FARMING facing?
On schedule, AgroPages will publish its annual magazine in April 2022, titled,“2022 Organic Farming.” We hope to communicate with industry experts, business executives, government managements and other relevant groups to better understand the opportunities available to the industry, as well as innovative technology solutions and the responsibilities of companies, which will contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture.
The recent conflict between Russia and Ukraine has had a massive impact on global food supplies. “At a time of great crisis, we must focus on maintaining and increasing agricultural production capacity, so the problems related to pesticides and other ecologically issues must be held back,” an EU agriculture official said in an interview.
Organic farmers have been introducing innovative technologies to increase productivity and lower costs, but that is not enough. During this period, what do we think about the economic and social value of organic farming? What are the new drivers, from governments to certification authorities, to help the industry meet its challenge? And what are the technological changes? Organic farming requires long-term thinking and systems.
