BASF announced in Brazil the launch of the herbicide Pendulum Aqua to control weeds in forests.
The manufacturer stated that the product has an innovative active ingredient (pendimethalin Group K1- HRAC) that provides “high residual in wet periods with selectivity for eucalyptus and pine.”
One of the biggest concerns of foresters regarding planting eucalyptus and pine in Brazil is weed infestations, which can impact the productivity and profitability of planted forests, and cause other losses at different stages of planting. Proper management involves innovative solutions and efficient control of invasive plants.
According to BASF, Pendulum Aqua is a pre-emergent herbicide with an active ingredient that controls the main weeds, focusing on grasses. “Applications are recommended in the initial stage of the forest, in the post-planting of the eucalyptus crop and pinus before the emergence of weeds. The application can be on the line, due to the selectivity of the product, between the lines and in the total area.”
BASF's Forestry Business Manager, Ricardo Zanquettim
“By choosing a quality herbicide with excellent performance, the forester places himself one step ahead of weed competition, reducing the establishment and dissemination of new invasive species, in addition to providing more quality to his production, generating a prosperous cycle of profitability and productivity,” emphasized BASF's Forestry Business Manager, Ricardo Zanquettim.
