Hailir Group’s Hengning environment-friendly formulation plant was completed with equipment installation in 25 individual workshops on January 22, China.

The installation included the Class A workshop, power building, hazardous waste warehouse, Class A warehouse, thermal oil furnace, a quality inspection building and utility works, now being under trial run.

The project is located in Qingdao Xinhe Ecological Chemical Science and Technology Industry Base, invested and built by Qingdao Hailir Group, covering a land area of 500 mu (1 mu = 1/15 hectares), with a total investment of RMB2 billion and a floor area of 150,000 square meters. The plant is designed to produce environment-friendly formulations. After running at designed capacity, the annual output will reach 40,000 tons, which will generate an annual production value of RMB5 billion and annual profit inclusive of tax of RMB837 million.

Since the start of construction in September 2020, all parties involved in the project construction have worked day and night to accelerate the progress of construction. They have achieved completion of the corporate business registration within a day, pile foundation work within a month, foundation work within three months and main works within six months.

According to the project management team, the project could achieve agrochemical production-oriented net zero carbon emission for the first time in China. This will lead to clean production, waste recycling and low carbon-based energy consumption in the agrochemical industry. This will further promote the agricultural industry transformation and upgrading in the region to shape a new agrochemical landmark in the high-end agrochemical industry of Qingdao, Shandong Province and even north of the Yangtze River in China.
