Meristem Crop Performance Group, LLC and Caleb Oxendale of Oxendale Ag, LLC announced a new dealership agreement to serve farmers in Northwest Indiana. Under the new relationship, Oxendale Ag will carry the Meristem Crop Performance product line and become Meristem’s ally in helping Indiana farmers make the most of every dollar they spend on crop inputs.
“Caleb Oxendale is known for practical, profitable solutions to the unique agronomic challenges in that part of Indiana,” said Mitch Eviston, Meristem Founder and CEO, in announcing the agreement. “We’re excited to be able to come alongside him as he serves his farmer-customers and also gain from his agronomic know-how and field experience as we add new products.”
“I like Meristem’s product line-up and I’ve heard good things about Meristem from farmers I already serve,” said Oxendale, who also represents Pioneer Seed in his service area. “One of my customers has been using Meristem products for two years now and has seen really good results – he was a big advocate of me carrying these products to others in the area.”
Oxendale focuses on bringing crop production solutions to farmers dealing with the unique soils and challenges in Lake and Porter counties of Indiana. He and his wife Jennifer and their newborn daughter live near Kouts, Indiana.
Oxendale Ag will now offer Meristem’s full product portfolio, including seed treatments under the brand RACEREADY™ and HOPPER THROTTLE, REVLINE™ plant growth regulators, TRUTRACK™ drift control, AQUADRAFT™ water conditioners and surfactants, UPSHIFT™ starter fertilizers and HOMESTRETCH™ nitrogen stabilizers, micronutrients, and foliar nutritionals. Of special interest is a line of biologicals Meristem is bringing to market, including EXCAVATOR™, a new biological designed to break down tough crop residue. Oxendale said he’s especially excited about Excavator to reduce residue and release nutrients. “I love the idea of breaking that residue down and releasing those nutrients for use in the next crop. I’m also looking forward to using Revline Hopper Throttle – an easy-to-use in-furrow product to boost fast growth and an early canopy.”
“My approach is different for every customer,” said Oxendale, who has a degree in agronomy from Purdue University. “So, the farmers I serve have many different farming methods and my approach is to help each of them achieve their individual goals. I’ve got no-till and heavy till guys that might be neighbors. I’ve got guys in the midst of subdivisions, and I’ve got guys in open space. Each one needs specific crop management plans.” He added that the Pioneer Seed line is very competitive in his area and he sees an opportunity with Meristem products to make it even better.“
It’s my mission to help growers make the most of every seed they put in the ground,” Oxendale said. “And, I’m looking forward to using some of these Meristem products to make the ROI better for my customers.” Eviston said that’s what makes Oxendale and Meristem a good match.
“We’ve set up Meristem to cut waste from the distribution channel while providing high-quality crop input additives to help American farmers reduce costs and increase yield, so they are more competitive in a global market,” says Eviston. “Now, with the help of Caleb Oxendale, we’ll be able to connect with more of the farmers who can benefit.”
