Grupo Nitro, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals and inputs for agribusiness, announced that it has been showing double-digit growth in recent years and is investing in the diversification of its business.
Last year, it registered a 50% growth in net revenue and invested over R$100 million in new plants, modernization, and acquisitions.
In line with its business expansion strategy, Nitro opened a new office in São Paulo. The 500 square meter area will house part of the administrative team and join the other seven units of the Group in Brazil, Uruguay, the United States, and Austria.
“Our goal is to be a reference in service quality and credibility in the chemical sector and to expand our business sustainably, increasing our participation and innovating in bio-defensives and specialized nutrition. The expansion of our facilities and proximity to the market is an important part of consolidating this trajectory,” Nitro's CEO Marcos Cruz said.
Founded in 1935, by entrepreneurs Wolf Klabin and José Ermírio de Moraes, as Companhia Nitro Química Brasileira, the company turned 86 years in 2021. Over nearly nine decades, the company has modernized and diversified its activities, always prioritizing the quality of its products, safety, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Over the past three years, part of the investments went towards entering agribusiness, more specifically in the input, fertilizer, and special nutrition segment, in which it is already one of the ten largest companies.
With 100% Brazilian capital and operations in over 70 countries, Nitro ended 2020 with a net income of R$1.1 billion in its three business lines – Agribusiness, Chemical Specialties, and Industrial Chemicals.
