Flagchem granted two invention patents including synthesis of topramezone intermediate

Chinese agrochemical company Flag Chemical recently announced that it had received two invention patent certificates, issued by China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).

The announcement said that the first patent is a bromine compound preparation method, which solves the main problems of low reaction yield, low product content, a large amount of waste and severe environmental pollution existing in the conventional bromine process. The patented new process has the features of the high conversion rate of the target product, excellent product purity and a small amount of waste, which is environment-friendly.

The second patent is a method of synthesis of 1,2-Dimethyl-3-methylsulfanyl-benzene, a topramezone intermediate. The patent provides a new method of synthesis of 1,2-Dimethyl-3-methylsulfanyl-benzene, which has the advantages of low cost, less waste, good atomic economy. It also solves the problems of odor generation and recovery of the solvent during production.

The grant of the invention patents and future applications will be conducive to launching innovative products in the market. It will enhance the company’s core competitiveness and positively impact on the long-term business growth of the company.
