Corteva Agriscience revealed, exclusively to AgroPages, it has obtained a new package insert extension for the insecticide, Delegate. Composed of the molecule, Jemvelva Active, which belongs to the chemical group, Spinosin, the product can now be applied to more than 70 cultures, including fruits, vegetables and legumes, combatting 75 different pests.
In addition to the inclusion of lettuce, mango and other minor crops, biological targets were included for several crops. Delegate is recognized as one of the most innovative and sustainable technologies in the world, having won the Green Chemistry Award, and endorsed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
According to the manufacturer, the product features high shock power, a wide control spectrum, prolonged residual effect, selectivity, and a shorter safety interval. “It is also an important solution for asset rotation and resistance management,” it said.
“Delegate is a great ally of farmers in protecting their crops. The insecticide has, in its technology, the innovative molecule, Jemvelva Active, and belongs to a chemical group exclusive to Corteva. The new leaflet extension ensures the product is a versatile, efficient, innovative and sustainable tool, making life even easier for farmers,” said Tainá Sipos, Portfolio Leader for Corteva Agriscience's Hortifrúti Line.
Among the new biological targets are Corcyra cephalonica for zucchini, Chrysodeixis includens for sugar beet, Drosophila suzukii and Thrips tabaci for strawberry, Thrips palmi for nectarine, Thrips tabaci and Haplothrips spp for plum, Frankliniella occidentalis for persimmon and Libri.
The minor crop, mango, avocado, pineapple, annonaceae, cocoa, cupuaçu, guarana, lychee, macadamia, papaya, mango, passion fruit, kiwi, pomegranate, lettuce, chard, cress, chicory, spinach, stevia, mustard and arugula, were also included.
