Excel Crop Care suspends production, sale of endosulfan

Agrochemicals manufacturer Excel Crop Care said it has suspended production and sales of endosulfan in compliance with the Supreme Court's orders.
On May 13, the Supreme Court had issued the ad-interim order banning the production, use and sale of endosulfan all over India for eight weeks with immediate effect till a Joint Committee conducted a scientific study and submitted its report.
"In compliance with the ad-interim order of the Supreme Court, the company has suspended production and sale of endosulfan," Excel Crop Care said in a statement.
As the ad-interim order has been issued during the peak sale season, the performance of the company in the short term will be adversely affected, it noted.
