The National Union of Vegetal Defense Products Industry (Sindiveg) and the National Rural Learning Service (SENAR) signed a partnership to train Brazilian rural producers on the correct and safe use of pesticides.
The content of the programs already made available by Sindiveg on its EAD platform will also be offered by SENAR from November 16, increasing the reach and capillarity with the primary target audience.
“Agricultural defensives are of fundamental importance for the success of rural production, controlling pests and diseases and ensuring the quality of the food we consume. With this strategic partnership, Sindiveg wants to encourage more farmers to adopt good agricultural practices, as its correct and safe use is beneficial to the environment, cultivation, society and the rural producer himself,” said Julio Borges Garcia, President of the Sindiveg.
General Director of SENAR, Daniel Carrara, said that the integrated work by the two institutions is in line with the professionalization of the domestic agribusiness. “The development of educational actions is important and necessary for training those involved in the production chain and preventing accidents. The union with Sindiveg helps to protect the health of the rural producer, at the same time that it enhances the safe production of food.”
The first action of the partnership would be the provision by SENAR of the contents already available on the sindiveg.org.br/cursos platform, addressing safety and security in the application of agricultural pesticides, application technologies and prevention and first aid in the use of inputs to the field.
Additionally, the training provided will also include information on “Good practices in the relationship between agriculture and beekeeping”, with seven modules: agriculture, beekeeping and crop protection products; defensives: bee-friendly practices; good beekeeping practices in relation to agriculture; how to apply non-impact pesticides to bees; formalization of beekeeping; the importance of learning to care for and protect bees; and terrestrial application: bee-friendly techniques.
SENAR's technical advisor, Mateus Moraes Tavares, affirmed that the platform is accessible to all audiences. “The content is didactic and easy to understand, in addition to high quality. These essential attributes are in line with other training offered by SENAR and will contribute to the constant professionalization of the national agricultural producer.”
Since the platform’s launch, more than 14,000 certificates have been issued, and more than 12,000 people have signed up. To participate in the distance training, simply access the sindiveg.org.br/cursos portal or the SENAR portal and fill in the registration data. The participation certificate is made available immediately after the completion of each stage – all free of charge.
