Rizobacter, a company belonging to the Argentine group Bioceres Crop Solutions, announced an investment of Brazilian Reais 40 million, equivalent to US$7 million, for the construction of a new factory in the city of Londrina, State of Paraná, in southern Brazil.

The company will produce adjuvants and premium oils on the land, which occupies an area of 65,241 m², through its 130 employees. The factory could begin production in 2022.

Director of Rizobacter, Nilton Elteto, recalled that the northern region of Paraná is home to other factories and cooperatives that are Rizobacter's commercial or production partners, which was a factor that weighed in favor of Londrina as the company's Brazilian headquarters.

“We are happy to have the support of the matrix to invest in Brazil. The market for efficient applications has grown, and with this installation, we will be ready to manufacture the new cutting-edge technologies in our pipeline,” Elteto said.

“The cost and environmental impact of agrochemicals continue to grow. The demand for adjuvant solutions that improve the efficiency and quality of their application is growing rapidly in Brazil and markets elsewhere,” added Ricardo Yapur, co-founder of Rizobacter and Director of Bioceres.

“By expanding our adjuvant production capacity in Brazil, we hope to serve local producers even better and take better advantage of this growth opportunity. Through a global network of technology alliances and with a strong focus on biological products and sustainable solutions, Rizobacter has developed a range of adjuvants for highly efficient and eco-friendly foliar applications. These are the same benefits offered by our broad portfolio of inoculants, seed treatments, and fertilizers,” Yapur stated.

Mayor of Londrina, Marcelo Belinati, welcomed the company’s directors and said, “his city is proving every day its vocation for innovation and technology. It is fantastic. A multinational that joins several other companies that have decided to come to the city and bring hundreds of new jobs,” he said.

President of the Londrina Development Institute (Codel), Bruno Ubiratan, followed the Bioceres Group's decision to come to the city and now celebrates the start of the work, which will begin immediately and hopes to be completed within 14 months.

For Ubiratan, when Londrina attracts a large industry such as Rizobacter, other outside companies tend to settle in the city. “We currently have a healthy business environment, with an excellent geographic location, qualified labor, the presence of universities and a research institute such as Embrapa, and an unrivaled quality of life,” said the Codel president.

The Bioceres Crop Solutions group has branches and subsidiaries in Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Colombia, United States, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, India, and Ukraine, and has been present in Brazil for 23 years. Rizobacter manufactures complementary biotechnology products such as inoculants, adjuvants, biofertilizers, and biocontrol products.
