Philippine leading distributor Agway celebrates World Organic Month with an online forum

Agway Chemicals Corporation (ACC), Philippine leading agrochemicals distributor, held an online forum to celebrate the “World Organic Month”. It was tagged as “Ka-Agway Kaalaman: Let’s Integrate Organic!: A Forum on Organic Crop Protection and Nutrition Products for Sustainable Production,” the webinar aims to reach out to Filipino farmers and raise awareness and support for organic products in farming.

The three-hour forum was spearheaded by different key opinion leaders from credible agrochemical companies: Mr. John Christopher Potot, Sr. Plantation Manager and Ms. Kristel Hawod Country Manager of STK Bio-Ag Technologies, Mr. Jesse Montaner, International Sales Representative of Omnia Specialities Australia Pty. Ltd., and Mr. Felicitos “Boy” Palis, Philippine Representative of GOWAN Crop Protection. With the participation of special guests, Ms. Mary Grace Mandigma, OIC and Director of Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS), and Dr. Fe Dela Cueva, Director of the Institute of Plant Breeding of UPLB.

The said forum highlighted the importance of integrating organic products to help create room for sustainability in the farming industry. The webinar featured different powerhouse organic products of the participating companies that include:

● K-Humate S100, a concentrated soil conditioner from plant-derived natural deposits of Australian Leonardite. 

● Zinc Mate, an organically chelated liquid zinc for effectively correcting zinc deficiency in crops. 

● M-Pede, a contact insecticide, miticide, and fungicide for control of soft-bodied insects, mites, and powdery mildew. Formulated from potassium salts of naturally derived fatty acids. 

● Timorex Gold, the first hybrid fungicide and bactericide of STK Bio-Ag Technologies.

Agway Chemicals Corporation (ACC) plans on producing more forums such as this to keep Filipino farmers informed about organic products that greatly impact the production of crops, and will contribute to the consumers’ consciousness and awareness.
