Continuing its expansion strategy in Brazil, Lavoro, the largest distributor of agricultural inputs in Latin America, completed its acquisition of Produttiva Agronegócios.

Founded in 2007, Produttiva is the market leader in the Northwest of Minas Gerais, focusing on the bean and cereal markets. Currently, the company has more than 30 employees distributed among two units in the municipalities of Paracatu and Guarda-Mor.

"This is our first acquisition in the state of Minas Gerais and we are very happy to be present in such a promising state for Brazilian agribusiness. The arrival of Produttiva further encourages us to work for farmers and enable them to solidify their growth, which is important to the world," said Marcelo Abud, CEO of Lavoro.

The company's business strategy includes the organic growth of its units and the acquisition of companies that have synergy with it, as well as the expansion of investments in areas of operations and the opening of branches in new regions.

Among the acquisitions and mergers carried out since 2017 to form Lavoro are the following: Lavoro Agrocomercial, Impacto Insumos Agrícolas, Agrovenci, Central Agrícola, América Insumos, AGSE (Colombia), Cultivar Group, Denorpi, Deragro, Futuragro, Gral (Colombia), Integra Insumos, Grupo Pitangueiras, Plenafértil, Produtec, Qualicitrus, Highlight, Produttiva, Cenagro (Colombia) and AgroZap*.

Across the country, around 2,500 people are employed by companies that are part of Lavoro.

*The completion of this transaction is subject to CADE approval and the completion of other conditions precedent.
