Meristem Crop Performance Group, LLC (meristemag.com) and Tidewater Seed, LLC (tidewaterseed.com) today announced a new strategic supply agreement to serve farmers in the Delmarva, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
Under the new relationship, the Meristem Crop Performance product line becomes a key component of Tidewater Seed’s new crop input offering and Tidewater becomes Meristem’s ally in helping farmers make the most of every dollar they spend on crop inputs.
“The Eastern Shore and Mid-Atlantic is full of outstanding crop producers and we’re excited to be able to join with Billy Simmons and his team to serve them,” says Mitch Eviston, Meristem Founder and CEO, in announcing the agreement. “Simmons and the Tidewater Seed group have built a solid business all about serving farmers with top-notch seed, knowledge and insight. It’s a quality operation and we look forward to working with them to serve more farmers.”
Simmons, Tidewater Seed’s Owner and CEO, says his crew is building Tidewater Seed to “bring the very best corn and soybean genetics and trait packages to meet specific needs of farmers in the Delmarva and Mid-Atlantic.” He views adding the Meristem portfolio as an opportunity to help growers improve the return on investment (ROI) for every client he serves.
“Meristem Crop Performance has that same attitude toward helping growers gain a better ROI,” he says. “Our alliance with them will enable us to help our growers make the most of every seed and every pass they make through the field – with high quality inputs at prices that help farmers make more money and keep more of what they earn.”
Tidewater Seed will now offer Meristem’s product portfolio, including seed treatments under the brand RACEREADY™ and HOPPER THROTTLE, REVLINE™ plant growth regulators, TRUTRACK™ drift control, AQUADRAFT™ water conditioners and surfactants, UPSHIFT starter fertilizers and HOMESTRETCH™ nitrogen stabilizers, micronutrients, and foliar nutritionals. Of special interest is a line of biologicals Meristem is bringing to market, including EXCAVATOR, a new biological designed to break down tough crop residue.
As a 40-year industry veteran, Simmons says he understands farmers want broad choices in genetics and innovative technology to achieve the best results for their own acres. “Adding Meristem’s product line to our own tailor-made seed lines will bring more opportunities for our farmer-customers.”
“We’ve set up Meristem to be the lean-overhead provider of high-quality crop input additives to help American farmers reduce costs and increase yield so they are more competitive in a global market,” says Eviston. “Now, with the help of Billy and his team, we’ll be able to connect with more of the farmers who can benefit.”
