Agrivalle plans to increase production in Brazil to 83 million kg of biopesticides

By Leonardo Gottems, reporter for AgroPages

The Brazilian agrochemical company Agrivalle announced that it intends to increase its production of biological inputs in the country to 83 million kilograms.

To reach the projected goal, the industry will invest BRL30 million (US$5.8 million) in a new unit in the city of Indaiatuba, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo.

According to the company, these investments should be made by November this year.

The investment is part of a financial contribution of BRL160 million obtained from Tarpon Investimentos, which acquired part of the company in August last year and plans to earn BRL1 billion over the next five years.

Agrivalle also highlighted the fact that it has 25 new products under development, and this year it started exporting to Paraguay and Angola. The investment will also expand the company's access to the market, where it is already one of the five largest companies in biological products for agribusiness in Brazil, and will focus on innovation and modernization projects.

“Brazil must become a great provider of biological solutions for the world. We aim to grow at least 30% above the market. The structure in Indaiatuba is much larger than in Salto (another unit of the company) and will sustain our growth. There, we will be able to increase production capacity by more than ten times, which currently stands at 8.3 million kilos of products,” said the director of New Business, Edsmar Carvalho Resende.

Founded 17 years ago, Agrivalle has a portfolio of 52 bioinput products, such as adjuvants, inoculants and plant nutrition, in addition to bioinputs, distributed among biofertilizers, biostimulants and biological defensives.
