ICAMA announced the list of the 7th batch of new pesticides intended to be approved in 2021, on July 9, 2021.

The list includes NISSO’s Picarbutrazox 97% TC and Picarbutrazox 10% SC (trade name: Bixiluo), to be used for controlling the cucumber downy mildew. This will be the first registration of Picarbutrazox in China.

Bixiluo will be released into the Chinese market next year and will play an important role in the prevention and control of oomycete diseases. Rotam will be fully responsible for the commercialization and brand promotion of the product in China.

Common oomycete diseases such as downy mildew are becoming increasingly resistant to a large variety of pesticides, resulting in an annual loss of over US$1 billion worldwide each year. Therefore, to effectively control the impact and to reduce the loss to growers, major agricultural science and technology enterprises have continued investment and every effort on prevention and control of the diseases.

Rotam China and Japan NISSO will be working together to promote the product Bixiluo, which contains the active ingredient Picarbutrazox. Product registration process and trials in China have been conducted for quite some time, now that the registration is about to be granted. The two parties have speeded up the trial and demonstration process to accelerate the launch of the technology to the forefront in the control of oomycete diseases.
