Corteva intensifies cooperation with leading Chinese agrochemical manufacturers, ensuring supply of raw materials, end products

To stabilize the global supply chain and ensure sufficient market supplies, Corteva has been intensifying its cooperation with Chinese enterprises. This year, Corteva signed cooperative agreements with Lier Chemical and Nutrichem related to the production of raw materials and end products.

On 18th May, a pesticide intermediate project launching ceremony was held by Guang’an Lier Chemical Co., Ltd., which is a joint investment between Corteva and Lier Chemical. The project features an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of fluroxypyr and 20,000 tons of chloropyridines. With an investment of Yuan700 million, upon completion, the project is expected to generate an annual production value of Yuan1 billion and annual profits and taxes of over Yuan200 million while creating more than 1,000 jobs.

Guang’an Lier Chemical Co., Ltd. is 20% owned by Corteva and 80% owned by Lier Chemical. The joint venture will focus on the R&D, production and sales of pesticide intermediates, chemical raw materials and fine chemicals.

In order to supply more diversified product varieties, on 30th June, Corteva and Nutrichem signed a cooperation agreement on the production of formulations. Corteva said that in face of the domestic market’s developments and challenges, it not only needs continuous innovation in terms of products, technologies and services, but it also needs partners within the same value chain to utilize their respective advantages, to offer more diversified product solutions, improve the competitiveness of famous brand products, ensure the healthy production of crops, and increase the incomes of growers. 

Nutrichem stressed that its cooperation with Corteva is becoming more extensive, diversified and more in-depth, adding that it will strive to improve its manufacturing capacity, technical innovation and operation management level to offer products and services that meet customer requirements and satisfy the market.
