CAC2021 held in Shanghai, China: Keeping pace with the times, exhibition further extended

The 22nd China International Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibition (CAC2021) was successfully held in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on 22nd June, 2021, with the 12th China International Fertilizer Show (FSHOW2021) and the 22nd China International Agrochemical & Crop Protection Equipment Exhibition (CACE2021) being held concurrently. 

The opening ceremony of CAC2021 was attended by Zhao Guijun, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation（CPCIF), Yan Duanxiang, Vice Director of ICAMA, Ali Nemati, Iranian Minister Counselor in China, Huseyin Gazi Kaya, Agricultural Counsellor of the Turkish Embassy in China, Liu Jigang, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CCPIT Sub-Council of Chemical Industry, along with Ma Chunyan, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Sub-Council of Chemical Industry, who delivered the opening speech.

Shai said that CAC has come full circle 22 years despite the difficulties or hardships. With the loving care of leaders of all levels, as well as the full support of experts from the international agrochemical industry and the active participation of global agrochemical manufacturers, CAC is now the largest and an irreplaceable agrochemical business platform in the world.

Highlighting a long journey and with a goal in mind, Ge called on everyone to achieve innovation, open their businesses to the world, and work together with international agrochemical manufacturers to keep pace with the times and jointly promote industry innovation, which will enable enterprises to contribute to continued agrochemical development in China and the rest of the world.

Keeping pace with the times, exhibition further extended  

As an international exhibition, CAC2021 encompasses pesticides, intermediates, fertilizers, agrochemical equipment, crop protection machinery, biopesticide and biological solutions, seeds, agricultural aviation, irrigation and greenhouses, pesticide synergists and formulation technology. There are nine major exhibition zones featuring 1,507 exhibitors and with a total area of 85,000 square meters, being presented both offline and online and connecting the industry’s upstream and downstream both at home and abroad. 

At the CAC exhibition site, all exhibitors were keen to show their best products while their staff members conducted warm presentations to spectators. Representatives of different exhibitors also had good exchanges with each other.

An innovative hybrid method of exhibition, online and offline at the same time

In order to support overseas visitors not able to be present on site due to the pandemic, the CAC’s organizer launched the CAC online exhibition platform in March presenting five parts of exhibition, which are pesticides and intermediates, fertilizers, agrochemical equipment and crop protection machinery, seeds, agricultural aviation and irrigation. The total number of products on display reached 13,000 while the total number of online visitors reached 320,000, with more than 8,000 transactions being successfully made. The CAC online platform is highly regarded by exhibitors and spectators at home and abroad. During the exhibition, online platform trading opened again from 21st to 25th June, with the aim of encouraging interactions between online and offline traders. 

Colorful highlights during exhibition 

During the three-day exhibition, the organizer held nearly 90 workshops that showcase the wisdom of global experts and focused on the discussion of supply and demand in the global agrochemical industry, reshaping market patterns, the development of the Chinese planting industry, the management and development trend of the Chinese pesticide industry, green technology and micro reaction process for the production of agrochemical products, upgrading pesticide formulations, the improvement of agrochemical synergy and formula techniques, biological control, and the professional service and experience sharing of international agrochemical testing institutions and consulting institutions. The discussions also covered all perspectives of the agrochemical industry, including market demand, industry dynamics, policy guidance, application practice and comprehensive solutions.

On the afternoon of 22th June, the 9th CAC award ceremony was held. A total of six awards were presented, including the 2020 Top 20 Chinese Pesticide Exporters, the Chinese Fertilizer Export Excellence Award, the CAC International Influential Fertilizer Brand, the 2020 Overseas Market Development Award, the 2020 Growth Enterprise and the 2021 CAC Recommended Supplier, where were awarded, respectively, to 100 enterprises.

Over 22 years, the CAC agrochemical exhibition has never forgotten its mission. After more than two years of preparations, the CAC exhibition again burst into bloom along the Huangpu River. From the new starting point, we are ready to set sail together with our global agrochemical counterparts towards a new journey, to better serve international agriculture.
