AgroPages-Picoxystrobin granted registration for use in pseudo-ginseng first time in China-Agricultural news

A picoxystrobin microcapsule SC filed by a Chinese company was approved for registration by China's Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA).

The registration was granted for control of pseudo-ginseng black spot and root rot, to be used for seed dressing. This is the first time in China that picoxystrobin has been registered for use in pseudo-ginseng, as well as a picoxystrobin microcapsule suspension agent.

Picoxystrobin is a methyl 3-methoxyacrylate fungicide and mitochondrial respiration inhibitor. There are already five formulations registered in China, which, besides technical, include a suspension agent, a suspension emulsion, a water emulsion and a water-dispersible granule. The scope of the application covers 15 crops. These are wheat, rice, peanut, tea tree, potato, tomato, cucumber, chilli, watermelon, apple tree, grape, jujube, banana, mango and dendrobium officinale.
