Corteva Agriscience launched, in Brazil, the “XT-S Technology” for controlling weeds in pastures.
The new product is the result of research conducted over 10 years and aims to minimize the damage caused by invasive plants, which can vary from 20% to 57% depending on the level of infestation.
XT-S Technology has an innovative formulation, which is a combination of the actives, Aminopyralide, Picloram and Fluroxypyr in a single solution, therefore, avoiding mixtures. The product is part of Corteva's DominumXT-S, GliderXT-S and TruenoXT-S ranges of herbicides.
According to the manufacturer, XT-S Technology offers broad spectrum control, being recommended mainly for semi-woody and woody weeds. Its benefits include the ability to improve pasture quality, resulting in the greater production of meat and milk and, consequently, reducing the opening of new areas, in addition to achieving greater efficiency and practicality in pasture management.
“Over the last decade, Corteva has increased its range of solutions for the needs of the pasture market from 30% to 80%. XT-S Technology covers 43% of the economically important weeds in pastures, generating greater protection by being more selective and consistent in terms of results, maximizing the use of land in a sustainable way,” said Paulo Pimentel (Leader of Marketing of Corteva Agriscience's Pasture Line).
“The new technology is also versatile, as it is proven for use through coastal, tractor and aerial application methods, creating a more vigorous pasture. It also ensures sustainability, which reduces the requirements for packaging for transport, storage and disposal,” he added.
“The use of the technology in pastures must be an increasing and frequent reality in order to improve productivity. In addition to the launch of XT-S, we will be adding new solutions to our current portfolio over the next few years. These are important steps towards our goal of contributing to the sustainable growth of the sector and the 2030 Global Sustainability Goals announced by Corteva last year,” Pimentel further added.
