China is encouraging the bio-pesticide, said Ji Ying, an official from ICAMA told Agropages that the state is to issue a regulation by the end of this year on an attempt to accelerate the registration process for bio-pesticide.
By reference to the developed countries, China will classify the registration requirement on chemical pesticide and bio-pesticide by remission on some document and shorten its approval procedure for bio-pesticides.
The registrations gained by bio-pesticides products took only a small proportion in all pesticides products. Including the antibiotic products, 73 active ingredients and 2500 formulation of bio-pesticide products have gained the approvals in China by the end of 2010, and the proportion of pesticide products were 11.2% and 9.3%.If excluding the antibiotic products like abamectin and
validamycin, the proportion of bio-pesticide products would be less than 3%.
